Realme Narzo 60 5G: The 5G Phone That Won’t Break the Bank

Realme has launched another affordable 5G enabled Narzo 60 phone in India for under Rs 15,000. This smartphone, the Realme 60x 5G is the third phone in the latest Narzo series and boasts a slim design (7.89mm in thickness) and a tall 6.72-inch display. It also has a decent processor for gaming and a standard 5000mAh battery with 33W fast charging support.

The Realme 60x 5G is offered in two storage configurations, and the price in India starts at Rs 12,999 for the 4GB + 128GB model. The 6GB + 128GB variant will cost you Rs 14,999. Both these models will be available on Amazon starting July 15. The company also offers a free Realme Buds Wireless 3 pair in the first sale.

This year, the Realme 60x 5G has a more premium-looking design than last year’s model. The phone still has a circular camera bump on the back, but it is smaller and flatter. The color options include Cosmic Black and Mars Orange.

If you look at the rear of this phone, you’ll notice that it has a polycarbonate frame and a flat, chiseled finish. It’s a beautiful design that you won’t mind holding in your hand for long durations. The front is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 5.

You’ll also find a fingerprint sensor on the back that’s embedded in the power button. This is a good addition as it makes it easier to unlock the device, even with wet hands.

The phone is powered by a MediaTek Dimensity 6100+ octa-core SoC paired with ARM Mali-G57 MC2 GPU and up to 6GB of LPDDR4X RAM (virtually expandable to 12GB). There is also a standard 5,000mAh battery under the hood, which can easily last you through most usage days, including calling, texting, social media, watching content, and gaming.

Like other recent Realme phones, the Narzo 60x 5G will run on the brand’s UI 4.0 built on Android 13. This UI offers many features but can be intrusive as it keeps popping up unwanted notifications and app download suggestions.

There are a lot of custom themes you can choose from, and the UI looks clean and straightforward to use. However, the lock screen text isn’t customizable, as it will always show “Realme” on your display.

The camera on this phone is quite impressive. The primary camera has a resolution of 50MP, an upgrade from last year’s model, while the secondary shooter is 2MP. You’ll find an 8MP selfie camera on the front that can capture decent selfies.

The Realme 60x 5G is the latest affordable entry to the 5G smartphone space in India, and it’s set to fare directly against the Redmi 12 5G. While the Redmi is the clear leader in this segment, the Realme is a close rival and should be considered when buying a new phone.
